The shoe features a ballistic mesh upper along with fuse overlays in high-wear areas. The toe-box fuse also features some lettering paying homage to King James himself with words that include: “LBJ23”, “Strive for Greatness”, “Nike Basketball”, “Ambassador XII” and “The King”. Its outsole consists of a translucent rubber with a thick traction pattern — much like its predecessor, the LeBron Ambassador 11.
Its cushion setup features a soft Phylon midsole along with top-loaded forefoot and heel Zoom-Air units. The rear section of the shoe features a nicely padded area around the heel/achilles area and also a nicely padded tongue that features the mantra LJ23. You also have a wrap-around midfoot strap, similar to the one seen on the LeBron Soldier 7.
The Ambassador series has always been a no-frills, down to business shoe, and so far it’s been pretty consistent while moving away from the water-proof shroud from last year’s pair. While it’s unfortunate that the Ambassador line is an overseas exclusive, it’s been a force to be reckoned with just in case other shoes in the LeBron series don’t cater to your playing style
